It's not the same sentiment.

One can acknowledge that africans and middle easterners are in principle able to improve their societies over time and to eventually reach the same degree of civilization as the West and, at the same time, also acknowledge that they are currently plagued by a highly problematic, backwards culture that leads immigrants from these regions to be a big net negative for countries that take them in unchecked. Those two views are not contradictory at all.

Theyre currently plagued by the remnants of imperialism. One thing I've done this year is try to get a better understanding of world history around 1600 to now and god damn. Virtually all problems in those areas can be traced back to a few landmark things, dividing up the middle east after ww1 and the vastness then collapse of the slave trade. They we're basically doomed to fail after that lol

let's test that hypothesis: what is the 'backwards culture' that plagues all african nations then? looking for a common factor that unites them i see a colonial past and a history of exploitation that extends to this day, but i have the strange feeling that's probably not what YOU mean...

The wars and tensions in Syria, Iraq, Yemen are mainly driven by the sectarian conflict between Shiites and Sunnis - a conflict that goes back another 1000 years from 1600.
Arab countries throughout most of their history were themselves highly engaged in slave trade; and if you look at the treatment of guest workers in Qatar or the Emirates, you will notice that the slaver-mentality is still present in these societies even today.

Sure, the West fucked things up big time in the Middle East, but it's ridiculous to claim "virtually all their problems" can be blamed on the West.

Lol, in terms of corona, Mexico is a disaster zone too. Unrealistic how few red dots there are for them.

To answer your question: tribalism and religious fundamentalism are the main factors. Smaller factors, or factors derived from these two, are irresponsible birth rates, a lack of national unity, rampant elite corruption, a lack of long-term planning and a lack of the Enlightenment period Europe went through.

i love how that picture is CLEARLY about canada and the US, but you just can't help yourself, you just HAVE to try and deflect, to downplay your cult leaders disastrous response to this pandemic.

that said, the US had 62.425 new cases yesterday, mexico had 6.995 - and while i would agree that mexico has NOT done a great job in fighting covid-19, its 'disaster zone' pales in comparison to their rich northern neighbour, which had all the money, all the infrastructure, and all the opportunities to do an outstanding job, but failed miserably.

hm, i wonder how those came to be. can't possibly be connected to europeans just drawing lines on maps, deliberately dividing the people to conquer and control vast numbers, murdering the smart and enslaving the strong, introducing oppressive and elitist systems, and controlling the resources of the continent, right?
you're suggesting those problems are home-made and inherent to 'africans', correct? i bet you think 'irresponsible' birth rates are not proven to be linked to poverty, but just a 'cultural' thing - just ignore history. YOU did not mine diamonds in namibia, so how could they still suffer from that, right? they need to get off their lazy asses and stop being so 'backwards' - it's simply their inferior nature, correct?

Lefty garbage people don't like to work, that's why they import all those poor slave laborers. I heard Albania is next on the list to be annexed by the EU aristocracy.

What a shit show
