if someone asked you in 2004 what the most female things were that you could think of periods and child birth would be the safest answers. today that's a potential canceling waiting to happen.

this is what got JK Rowling in hot water, she said that trans rights are important but that it's diminishing some of what women find empowering. and then the cast of the movies had to come out with PR written answers saying she was out of line. out of fucking line for saying she finds periods, pregnancy, and child birth empowering and that she feels sometimes trans rights try to diminish some of these empowering things.

and all of this 3 years after she caught hell from people for making Dumbledore and Grindenwald have a gay relationship, a few years after getting applauded for announcing Dumbledore was gay but not having anything else to say. just "he's gay". fuck odd time lol.

Dumbledore wasn't gay lol. You can't go back and retroactively have representation.

I suppose the Weasleys are now black too lol.

I think its shitty that she said women with PCOS aren't really women but the TERF thing is overblown. I don't think she was really excluding women with PCOS either but it was a reckless statement.

But as far as the retroactive representation...can't do it. She wrote a story about a special place where affluent white children from noble families go to learn to use their super powers, secret from the muggles and you know whats.

They should have had Dumbledore and Snape in a down low relationship.

I give it 25 years until gender is considered to not exist any more and all the gendered terms will be considered straight up swear words

Man I hope so. Will make interactions easier.

One universal pronoun is just a good thing for society as a whole.

i mean it makes sense that Dumbledore is gay, and it makes sense that him and Gellart had a boy crush on each other. if you're reading the original series.

its just that this full blown relationship was clearly retcon'd to 1.) pander to LGBTQ audience 2.) create a reason Dumbledore didnt just go an fuck Gellart up like 5 years before he did 3.) stretch the series into more movies for more money.

the list of problems i have with the new series doesnt end, each new movie makes it even worse. if i find dumbledore being retcon'd as gay as silly, its nothing compared to far more problematic stuff in the movies.

in any case JK has mirrored the same feelings many women have, that hardcore trans advocates can be diminishing to women. a woman should be able to be proud of her vagina, period, child birth, lactation, etc. without having to hear "yeah but not ALL women have those things to be proud of you cis bigot!".

honestly that lane of trans people should shut up, pee wherever they want, and leave people alone with those kind of attitudes. it hurts their own cause. dont be an inflammatory fuckface.

trans women (born male) dont have periods.

trans men (born female) do have periods.

its another case of "let's pander to .04% of the population".
