I mean... Trump is not THAT much younger than Biden, and a lot of the ossified fossils in Congress are even older. If Biden's 78 were "too old for politics", then the country would need to replace something like half of its political leadership.

Pretty much this.

Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, Feinstein, Trump2024 (if he runs again) - all too old if we're being honest. But particularly on the Democratic side, the fossils are so entrenched that they're impossible to remove.

It's the last legacy of the boomers.

They basically froze out anybody who wasn't in their generation lol. 3 generations have been largely removed from political representation. Millenials and whatever we call the next generation might be the first adequately represented generation since the boomers.

Biden's generation was also locked out. At the end of the day though, you need to have a pretty established career in order to make it to Congress so it shouldn't surprise us that the average age is like 50+.

the problem is no one pays attention to the primaries, it's not that they need a established career to make it

He was born in 42. Only slightly out of boomer territory.

Still, his generation is called the silent generation for a reason lol

The boomers destroyed all of the institutions that made America great in the first place. They won, but only through pure retard strength by fucking over everyone else.

It still boggles my mind that the first boomer president was eleted in 1992 while it took until 2020 (and a myriad of very lucky breaks) to elect the first president from the silent generation.

Late 40s to late 60s is the ideal age for political leaders. Anything 75 and up is very questionable. Not just because an awful lot of people start losing a step around this age - at some point, old people just just become too detached from the culture, experiences and values of too many segments of society. At some point, it just becomes impossible to really grasp what's driving the younger generations and thus to adequately represent them. A few old farts being sprinkled in among the political leaders is okay, but it will lead to suboptimal outcomes when a country's entire leadership belongs in a museum.

term limits for Congress would solve this, which has pretty strong support among everyone here and basically everyone who isnt a swamp demon (Trump and even pols like Cruz and Rand are for term lomits). The swamp has done far more damage to America than most Presidents.

age is a number, like i said if youre fit at 70+ cool if not that’s cool too just maybe enjoy retirement or a hobby or a less strenuous job.
