I've been to eastern & central Europe half a dozen times within the last 2-3 years. My now wife and I used to go on evening walks pretty regularly there, no issues. It's actually pretty common during the warmer months. Here in the US i live in the inner city. 6 months ago they found a shot up body on a porch 4 houses down from me, i hear police sirens literally every night no exaggeration, my wife gets cat called every time when she walks to the park 500 yards away if she's by herself.
Like to compare the two environments and think they are the same is pretty dumb imo.
"woke" Europeans criticizing gun deaths in the US is peak ignorant ironic white privilege. they live in an ivory tower of general racial homogony, with very little wealth disparity. a system they were born into, had no part in either creating or maintaining. and yet they criticize us, for a system we didnt build or maintain. its like a genetically gifted person making fun of a kid in a wheelchair. and yet that little wheelchair kid still beat them in the 100 meter dash, only to get more snark. then when u point this out they give u the "no no no, we have 15% minorities here", which is basically "i have a black friend".
