The Hague for harboring “domestic terrorism” or something nonsense like that
I agree with the rest of your post. if one were inclined to build a business platform that provided a suite of services (servers, payment processing, ddos protection, advertising channels, websites etc.) that wouldnt surrender to the woke mob it’d make a killing.
but that requires a lot of work!
to be fair before the rhetoric was “build your own site” and when people did that the woke mob would sic the payment companies and webhosting companies on them. reddit losers still brigade that the_donald standalone site. so you literally need a fleet of services to protect any product you build
i dont think we agree as much.
Parler came out, and immediately had to start eliminating users. because ANY social media platform is a flame to troll moths. this is a problem inherant to the social media idea itself, and ANY control mechanisms at all will be inherently problematic. u either have 4chan/Liveleak with gore, murders, etc all shown, OR you get a problematic structure system of removing users. those are the only two options. there is no "doing it right" in a real sense. any moves u make will be problematic when we consider the scale is billions online with billions of accounts and trillions of posts.
transparency around bans isnt to protect a left wing bias, its to slow down the piles of users looking to subvert the system of checks twitter is employing.
in short, a good social media site with any level of moderation cannot exist. its a unicorn. until we have AI with the ability to do it, and that could be decades, its a pipe dream. regulation, parler, bitching, w.e. nothing will change this.
