The McMichael's did not catch him red-handed doing anything criminal. Therefore they had no reason to perform a citizen's arrest.

notice how not a single person in this thread has ever claimed he was an 'angel', or anything along those lines? mostly because it's entirely irrelevant to the situation. he was hunted down by two racist scumbags and murdered in cold blood.

and just for the record, you have a serial criminal, tax and draft dodging scam artist, who repeatedly cheated on his wives as a president, so i don't think that part of your attempt to smear the victim makes much sense either.

These are people who are claiming legal infallibility. They are claiming they've never sped in a car or dumped paint or whatever. They are claiming what is legal is good, which in the right times and places would include things like chattel slavery and the mass murder of jews in europe.

To try and convince the public that Arbrey has done bad things in the past and thus the vigilante-conducted lynching of him was justified.

on one hand i like that "he was just a sweet angel" narratives are countered, because we always get the same story. "wouldn't hurt a fly", "all his teachers loved him", 5 year old sophomore year high school pic dressed in sunday best, etc.

but on the other hand in a court of law past lawbreaking isn't admissible evidence, for just this very reason, it influences otherwise impartial people.

i dont think the police should spearhead the videos being released, but if a media outlet can report false "he was a sweet boy" quotes they can and should release videos that show additional context. or reports a person was suspended for fighting in school, or what they usually look like rather than sunday best, etc.

if only a bunch of racist scumbags followed YOU around with drawn guns in order to 'self-defend', maybe you'd realise how despicable your attempts to justify this murder is. oh wait, you wouldn't, because you wouldn't be around anymore.

It becomes harder to claim self defense when you initiate the conflict.
