There are no statistics that i know of, but there plenty of cases where a dog/cat has begun eating its owner when left alone with the body for some time. Given favorable conditions a lot of the pets would eat the owners, not all ofc but a good many.

Nah, those cases are pretty rare. You can literally just ask EMTs since they respond when people are foumd dead after several days. Animals eating bodies is extremely rare.

When you have let's say a dog and especially a cat in a house that they don't really have obvious way to run away the owner is pretty much their meal ticket
