Someone brings up a topic and people with opposing viewpoints argue over it. Yes, it's not a formal debate but if you're going to pull the "IT'S REALITY" card you might as well not come to this subforum.

What is so wrong with pointing out reality ?

You can rant and rave that gravity doesn't exist but the acceptance of the reality might keep you from trying to fly out of your window .

Why point out the reality? We all know gay marriage is banned. It doesn't add to the discussion at all.

It certainly does . It expresses the majority opinion that exists in the real world which in the end is what matters .

You could say this for almost all topics in PaRD.

Again, it adds nothing to the discussion and makes you look like a bigot for having no legit reason.

Certainly . The constant whining that things should be this way or that way is in direct opposition to reality . Part of maturing is being able to accept the truth .

The fact that not everyone posts why they oppose gay marriage boils down to the fact that just about all of us here know why we oppose it because someone makes one of these ridiculous threads every week and we have rehashed it ad nauseam and because they lack the ingenuity and intelligence to come up with a different topic .

Then accept the fact that majority doesn't make things correct. Lots of religions have come and gone. People that believed strongly in their faith as you do. People throughout history have long held a thought as the general truth, only to come later that it isn't so.
