A lot of people don’t like nuclear also. Coal isn’t the boogeyman the press or democrats plays it off to be. There’s carbon capture, scrubbing technology advancement etc… emissions are monitored. Lack of power is the real issue that’s going to come into play and has already started in some states. If people want to save the climate they should ban planes… 😆

Nuclear is the worst alternative because all it takes is an event like Chernobyl/Fukushima and we'll all be radioactive.

Despite your view on oil, it is a finite source and will eventually turn into a "cannot sustain exploding populations around the world" resource. Green energy is all about taking away our reliance on that single resource since it will not last forever as the powerhouse it is.

im in favor of using nuclear in areas where natural disasters aren't a large risk, coming up with a solid plan to get the waste off of earth, and NOT building plants in hurricane, earthquake and tornado risky locations.

Agreed but the current existing plants are already in "not so favorable" locations(some not all)

Most of them cannot just be "taken down" tomorrow. It would take YEARS to decommission/recommission a plant under the current "safety guidelines".

Standards have changed over the last few decades too which is a good thing but shows when we first started building them we didn't know what we know now(obviously).

You simply cannot replace fossil fuels(80% of current energy supply) in any time table that matters.

Either way we as citizens will have no choice in such a matter. We don't have a choice in anything that matters. Every 4 years you get to pick whether you like blue or red more.

Our government/military doesn't ask for "our permission" they just do what they planned to do anyway.
