The United States has a real problem with inner city / minority violence, the roots of which go back hundreds of years. You should create a thread for that, though, this is about the EU.

Turnout in Spain is going to be huge, but that's because we're also hosting munincipality and regional (12 of the 17 regions) elections. It's a shame because the european debate has been distorted and buried under the other elections.

Just came home from voting an hour ago, was surprised by the amount of people in the polling station. Not (national) general election levels of turnout, but definitely higher than for the last EU election in 2014.

Europhobic parties have given up leaving the European Union.
Eurosceptics - right or left - have for the most part removed from their program the idea of holding a referendum on their country's membership of the EU.
Mrs Le Pen continues to blame the EU for most of the French issues, but the one who explained during the 2017 presidential campaign that "about 70%" of her program was not applicable without leaving the EU & the Euro, has today clearly abandoned both the idea of "Frexit" and the idea of changing currency !
