just as a curiosity will Covid19 have an effect on body positivity movements?

i mean i'll take a "curvy model" over a stick think boy bodied one any day.

but we went from getting size 8 women with stretch marks into catalogs to 300 lb heifers being "sex symbols". somewhere we lost our way.

tig ol bitties are great, and i actually am fairly attracted to stretch marks on an ass, but obese women are disgusting. and they've generally got a bunch of BS cherry picked studies claiming that weight is healthy.

however, with the emergence of Covid and the far more clear health risks at that weight, will we see a bucking of the trend?

probably not. same will rule apply: its fine to make fun of chubby guys like the king of queens and trump but any comment on “protected” classes needing to watch their weight and health = bigotry

honestly ive more concerned with the obese that have sleep apnea.

my coworker died of covid yesterday, and had BAD sleep apnea. well, when you have covid and can't breathe then u add in sleep apnea all it takes is one time drifting off exhausted before u put your machine on and its over.

i dont have confirmation obviously that's what happened, but he was found slouched over on a couch just dead without his apnea machine on.

Sleep apnea is the silent killer man

I hVe seen some people with new diagnosis and their sleep studies showed 200 different incidents of apnea during their sleep - basically not taking a normal breath for 15-20 seconds ...200times (not every time was 15 seconds of course

To seal the diagnosis u need 5 events per hour but some people got like 20+ events lol. It’s truly insane, many of these people are high functioning people too.

yeah he was like that, an insane amount per night. worse yet he was single and lived alone, so as he got sick he had no one to monitor his symptoms or sleep....

dude was 40 years old. 400+ lbs. pre-diabetic (i think actually diabetic and not being treated for it). and couldnt breathe after using stairs.

Yelp has announced that they will now place a large warning on any companies they accuse of racism, based on entirely arbitrary criterion and openly stating it will be applied to companies that 'gains attention' based on 'news articles'
This is the same Yelp that made their business model on extorting companies by placing negative reviews in front of them unless they paid protection money to make the bad reviews go away
Now they're doing the same thing, but with accusations of racism.
