obama wasn't abrasive as trump and didnt wage a war on the press.

if a pipsqueak feebly punches a body builder we all nod along in approval as the pipsqueak gets slammed into a wall. but when its a president who wages an ill advised attack on an institution as powerful as the press trump supporters simultaneously cheer as he does it and cry as he takes shots.

because he's able to win an election without shooting his own presidency in the foot with regards to the press. he did the smart thing and just got the GOP riled up, rather than the opposing party and the press.
