they are not as densely populated

Wrong.

Florida population density: 384 people per square mile
California population density: 253 /sq ml

Still doesn't change the fact that you don't count the mortality rate of a disease by comparing deaths from infection to the entire population.

Wrong.

Mortality rate = fatalities as a share of the overall population in question
Lethality = share of infected population dying from a disease.

TIL people are evenly distributed across a state.

Weren't you pointing this out to Ghot a few weeks ago?

Yes, to point out that population density on a statewide level is not a suitable metric.
Crossbones' statement that Florida has a lower population density than California is still factually wrong.

Moreover, keep in mind that Florida also has unpopulated areas like the Everglades, and also has very dense urban agglomerations like metro Miami, the Tampa Bay metro, Jacksonville etc.
It's not like all of Florida consists of nothing but evenly populated places having suburban density...

you just said "no", you didn't say anything about population distribution, which is hard to formulate for these two countries in anyway.
Even if California has a larger urban population % it goes beyond that IMO... It's definitely more dense AND... Well it's just a famous destination...

Mistaken, as well. I thought mortality rate was specific to the subset of the population which had positively contracted the disease. Different terms get thrown around by different sites.

I would argue that Vegas Presidential odds are a better predictor than national polls this far out. Vegas is giving Trump a ~60-40 (-140 vs Biden's +140) chance of winning reelection right now, which I think is fair. I predict those odds will be up to 70-30 or even 80-20 by October.
