No matter how senile he might or might not be, I really doubt that Biden has an urgent deathwish. Even he cant be stupid enough to pick Hillary as his running mate. After winning the election, I wouldnt even expect him to make it till inauguration day...

in Wisconsin all our gov did was order "nonessential" businesses to close, but didn't define it at all. so almost literally everyone stayed open. the only businesses I know of that were shut down by police were a few bars trying to stay open and Hobby Lobby. quite literally everything else is still open, although many with drive up orders only. the only other closures are businesses voluntarily if an outbreak occurs. and of course schools were closed, but the universities all closed or went to online classes previous to the governor order. our reopening plan should be easy to make, its basically just groundwork for reopening restaurants and bars. even liquor/tobacco stores here stayed open. casinos did shut down, but from memory it was previous to gov order.

WI projected 725,000 job losses across 48,000 companies, so I doubt "almost literally everyone" stayed open. A "few" bars? Don't youhave th e most bars per capita? Like in the world?

Yes i know what it means.. Do you really think there is a choice here? Is it your opinion that the economy and health care system would of survived fine with no restrictions?
If no then what level what business should be shut down.
My opinion left unchecked the virus would of shut us down on its own with who knows how many more fatalities etc.
So you are upset by? The fact the government is asking you to stay in place when they don't have the right or you saying you don't believe people should? Or you just don't like it?
What I can agree on is the neither the states or the fed has ANY good re opening plan.
You see no irony in the R wing survivalist group crying like babies right now?

If we had a government that was straight with us instead of treating us like children? Yeah, we'd be fine. Yes, there would be more deaths NOW, and fewer later. In the meantime, more people could still be at work. Sweden is saying they're already getting close to a herd immunity effect.
No business should be "shut down." Instead, people should be advised to take all necessary extra precautions to be out in public safely and let them be adults.
The government isn't ASKING. I don't mind following sound advise. I absolutely mind being told what to do.
Lol, "crying." Protesting is crying when the right does it, and RESISTANCE when the left does it, amirite?

In a lot of situations there aren't reasonable precautions you can take. Crowded places are dangerous for yourself and others even with masks and the like. I don't think sit down restaurants can really be said to be safe no matter the precautions, since you're in a room with rotating groups of people within a few feet and have to take your masks off to eat, for example.

The outdoors is absolutely safe, in relative terms. Sweden's restaurants aren't closed forcibly, but are mostly vacant by voluntary actions of the public. But people can still work, and people can still sit far away from someone else.

according to 2012 census data there were 433,000 businesses or so in wisconsin. so approx 10% closed their doors for the lockdown. and that's maybe high, because the job losses arent just from closed businesses, they're also laid off workers from businesses that have to close in store shopping and operate only pick up with less staff. but 10% is a decent enough number to ride with. so we're 90% open for business. when i said that almost no one closed i was referencing sectors, bars and hobby shops are basically the only sectors closed off entirely. and even bar/restaurants are still operating pick up meals. i go to all of the local bars 1-2 times per week on a rotation to try and help out, and i like burgers that taste good. but yes for bars its devastating, Wisconsin has so many bars it's jarring to people. Oshkosh's main street for example has around 25 bars in a 6 block length. in college we'd do a pub crawl to them all, or as many as we could get to before we were too drunk to get served.

I hope Europeans know that most Americans think that sort of behavior is fucking crazy. I can't believe they let those people inside.

Yeah, I have a friend who used to live in Ironwood, MI. When we'd go up to visit her, we'd go across the border to Hurley, WI to drink and party, and the number of bars on the main drag of a small town was nuts.

wisconsin and their bars dont fuck around. when i was in college we'd stop at any of the 25 bars and all of them would be fairly packed even on a weeknight. its nuts.
