^^lol

Its a known and obvious fact that governments have enacted a number of suppressive policies that have restricted people's movement and forced many out of their jobs.

If your job puts food on your table, it's essential.

I already work outside the home in an "essential" occupation, though my part time job is shut down (school buses).

Depends on the state. Remember, California is arresting people for paddleboarding by themselves.

I stay home. I'm already a homebody, so all this has done is increase my company. But for other people willing to take reasonable precautions to re-engage? I think they shouldn't be barred from doing so.

for a school worker sure, but many places in Wisconsin at least, shut down voluntarily. our stay at home order had no specifics and very few places were shut down by any force.

are you at least being paid by the school? most school workers here still are getting paid, even janitorial and kitchen staff.

Here in Minnesota, the shutdown is by the governor's order. Public accommodations and all that. My regular tobacco shop refused to comply initially and was open after the shutdown commenced, and they were only allowing 3 people into the store at a time (you know, trying to be responsible). Sheriff shut them down. So instead of some customers going to a place that wants to stay open, more of them have to utilize fewer vendors to get the same products, because those vendors have other products to sell. So more people are congregating in fewer places. Sounds fairly antithetical to what they're trying to do here.

Yes, I am being paid a percentage of my wages. It's not like tax remittances from banks for escrows have dried up. Though I'm sure they're strained now.

in Wisconsin all our gov did was order "nonessential" businesses to close, but didn't define it at all. so almost literally everyone stayed open. the only businesses I know of that were shut down by police were a few bars trying to stay open and Hobby Lobby. quite literally everything else is still open, although many with drive up orders only. the only other closures are businesses voluntarily if an outbreak occurs. and of course schools were closed, but the universities all closed or went to online classes previous to the governor order. our reopening plan should be easy to make, its basically just groundwork for reopening restaurants and bars. even liquor/tobacco stores here stayed open. casinos did shut down, but from memory it was previous to gov order.

Yes i know what it means.. Do you really think there is a choice here? Is it your opinion that the economy and health care system would of survived fine with no restrictions?
If no then what level what business should be shut down.
My opinion left unchecked the virus would of shut us down on its own with who knows how many more fatalities etc.
So you are upset by? The fact the government is asking you to stay in place when they don't have the right or you saying you don't believe people should? Or you just don't like it?
What I can agree on is the neither the states or the fed has ANY good re opening plan.
You see no irony in the R wing survivalist group crying like babies right now?

In a lot of situations there aren't reasonable precautions you can take. Crowded places are dangerous for yourself and others even with masks and the like. I don't think sit down restaurants can really be said to be safe no matter the precautions, since you're in a room with rotating groups of people within a few feet and have to take your masks off to eat, for example.

No matter how senile he might or might not be, I really doubt that Biden has an urgent deathwish. Even he cant be stupid enough to pick Hillary as his running mate. After winning the election, I wouldnt even expect him to make it till inauguration day...
