You are ignorant to medical science discourse so I will give you a pass on this. Obesity cannot accurately be diagnosed unless somebody has other conditions met. If you don't have metabolic syndrome, high BP, or other measures, you can't diagnose obesity anymore and the diagnostic criteria is changing drastically so it can become a meaningful measurement for healthcare instead of being a number as useful as the aggregate income gap between genders number it is now.

You can have every problem that comes with a high BMI with a low BMI as well. And the consequence and impact on care is what matters. It's best to assess each person instead of having your answers before you meet them.

I wouldn't expect a layperson to know this.
