I agree it is a weird flex, but true none the less. It's what the "song" stands for that makes it worth respecting.

Tis just a song and myself plus thousands of other active duty folk can say that we signed up so that people can exercise their rights.

Kneeling out of respect while it’s played is fine by me.
They’re respecting the soldiers and those who fight for their right to do so.
They do not think that they should accept the status quo.
Spitting on soldiers’ graves and holding signs that say they’re all going to hell is an insult, thanks Westboro. Oh forgot to add the loud protesting they do at military funerals.
