How is proclaiming NK as no longer a nuclear threat braggadocios? There's no truth in it. His supporters aren't idiots, they have tv and internet, they can understand basic facts about the world.

This isn't hype... this is a false statement that makes no sense to any person following American foreign policy.

He is bragging that because of his meeting with Kim this is the effect.Trump has succeeded again, that's what he want the world to believe. Once again he is either being hyperbolic or exaggerating the significance of what happened with this meeting. Or maybe he is being hopeful, i don't know. The thing is no one in their right mind whether it be in Japan, China or SK is basing their policy off this tweet. If this tweet was accompanied by some vouch by NK to scrap their nuke program or that Trump is moving the troops out or whatever, you would of seen a frenzy. You would of seen financial markets go up 5% all across the globe, you would of seen every single network in the world talking about this for the next 90 days, but it hasn't happened because most of the world is sensible enough to understand how one tweet rooted in wanting ones ego stroked really means. Only one that is up in arms about this is you.

So the whole world except the user IceMage on a gaming forum is not concerned whatsoever with the President of the United States telling us that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat, even though they still have 40+ nukes and a bunch of missiles(including ICBM's). Even though they have a bunch of biological/chemical weapons. Even though they aren't disarming yet, and haven't signed a concrete proposal to do so.

I'm thinking that those countries aren't wearing the same colored glasses as you.

IceMage may dislike Trump overall, but he opened up this discussion in good faith by asking PaRD what a successful summit looks like.

He even offered praise to Trump in areas he thought he did well, linked an article on the possibility of an embassy, offered a measured reaction to the immidiate results of the summit, and was clearly making an effort to keep this thread substantive and on the issues.
