Tyranny of the majority is pretty dangerous stuff though. I think the founding fathers were right to implement thr electoral college to ensure every state has a reasonable say and that all walks of life in the US are represented.

Small states already get more than their fair share of over-representation in our federal government, though.

25% of the country's population is represented by 62 Senators. The electoral college is double dipping.

Additionally, it effectively emphasizes the vote in 5-6 swing states over everyone else's. So it effectively leaves many people without a voice and probably encourages a lot more people to stay home, such as Republicans in California and Democrats in Texas.

But this is just a matter of opinion.

So would you rather each district get one electoral point?

Regional?

Population-wise?

Almost every state, even the ones the beast won were blood red.

Only places that were blue are the major cities.

The fact that it comes down to swing states suggests that theres a good balance of power in the system though since it does go back and forth.

Also why do you think that small states having just as much say in the senate is getting "more than their fair share"? Their fair share should be equal to everyone else because they are a state. Just because they happen to have fewer people they shouldnt have the same say as everyone else in the senate?

Edit: grammar [im on my phone :( ]

Woule you kindly turn your huge bold letters off? I voted for trump and am a published chemist if either of those facts will convince you. The font is just so obnoxious lol.

But yeah, he stated earlier it should be based purely on population. I think such a system would make an imbalanced system since most people live on the coasts that condition people to favor liberal viewpoints
