so you seek to ban religion everywhere on the basis that it would better the human species? i am not religious, mind you, but nearly everything humans have accomplished is because of a faith of some kind. of course if you need an argument point you could always point to north korea "see! atheism did that!"

Herpafrikkinderp.

I don't seek to ban religion. I seek to enlighten it's adherents as to it's invalidity and the harm it does and hopefully help a few on the road to becoming atheist.

As for North Korea... They worship the Kims as gods. It's not particularly atheist and even if it was the atheism of it's people wouldn't be responsible for what happens there - that would be their totalitarian ideology. Totalitarianism being one of the main attributes of organised religion.

people don't accomplish things en masse through atheism or for the greater good. they accomplish things through faith and/or greed. oh and if you atheists ever get together and do something good for the world, it will be called organized religion. BOOM!

...interesting that you mentioned the Crusades .

Those who haven't studied the rise of Western Civilization are likely unaware of how much science of the day the Crusaders brought back to Europe . Good for you that you can recognize the contributions of religion to the world as a non-believer :hail:

...I'll give you a little deeper insight into the Crusades ; they were more about ridding Western Europe of the militarized upper echelons and their private armies who were preying on the citizenry than they ever were about religion on the part of the Church . The militarization was a direct result of the necessity to fight off the Viking and the Moors . ;)

The DPRK doesn't have an official religion, but it doesn't enforce atheism as that would go against juche principles. There are many Buddhists in the DPRK, and there are also some small christian minorities.

Poor scaly, gonna get whipped in the after-world. Not only denies God, but publically incites people to follow his path
