Another case of Trump saying mean things. No brain mouth filter, and no need for proof, he just talks shit like a fucking natural. His campaign and the RNC did nothing to backup the claim, and even attempted damage control.
Same with his claims that McCain wasn't a war hero, because getting captured doesn't make one a hero. True, false, doesn't matter. He just talks shit. He does it every day in speeches and on Twitter, and he has since the 80's.
No campaign has been centered around it though. That's just Trump saying mean things, which is par for the course. The day Trump starts becoming a nice, friendly person who's completely socially acceptable will be the day I suspect Trump is terminally ill and about to die.
Frankly, it came across as nothing more than a mean spirited joke to me, and I'm not gonna lie, I laughed.
And if you look at some of what the Cruz campaign did regarding Kassich, fuck him anyhow, he deserved the mean words. ;)
So, you're saying that Trump is saying mean and mean-spirited stuff all the time, but according to you, the idea that he's using nasty tactics is complete BS - seriously?
Oh yeah, shoutout to goom and ice for providing examples for my earlier claim that GOP primaries always devolve into gigantic shitshows.

You could see this coming down-the-line once the right wing adopted Saul Alinsky's tactics in creating the tea party. Wasn't long until the GOP fully committed to white identity politics. Now we have the David Duke president.
White identity politics have been a part of the GOP messaging since the days of Nixon, it's really not a new invention. Also note that Trump's overt embrace of it only came after the left had started openly embracing various flavors of leftist identity politics, like e.g. BLM.
The U.S. is on an unhealthy escalation spiral of polarization and identity-group based hostility, and has been since long before the tea party. What happened from 2010 onward is only the latest chapter.
