Time and again i find contrarians end up in some odd alliances. first wave i noticed was the hippy/maga alliance around vaccines. now its a crowd that's so anti military industrial complex that they come out pro hamas.
i get that people are anti bombing of gaza, i am myself, but they should also recognize that means they want hamas to go without punishment. because there's exactly zero chance that the IDF mounts a fullscale ground invasion of Gaza city without bombing it, the only chance of that would have been the evacuation being heeded. it wasn't, so here we are. if they wont leave israel will bomb them until they think the rubble is safe to walk into without encounting a booby trap behind ever door.
I mean I'm pretty anti war, but there's a lot of things being thrown together into binary camps with any nuance being left by the wayside. I support a show of force by the US to keep the surrounding Muslims at bay and thought that sending the carriers, for no other reason than that show was a positive. But then you have full-retard elements that are basically calling for an all out war on Iran or to pre-emptively engage Iran on paper thin 'proof' that they were behind the attacks which I'm categorically against.
Gaza bombing & intervention was always going to be messy AF. I'm neither for or against it, but have repeatedly acknowledged that the choice for Israelis is to do something or nothing and I don't blame them for responding. Instead I think it's easier to point to the faults in our backyard, versus deriving definitive moral black and whites in a war that's so grey. Neither side is going to look back onto this episode a year from now and feel good about the outcome IMO.
