if you actually read that article, you'd realise how misleading your original 'meme' is: he was arrested for ignoring a 'stay at home' order and lifeguards, not for insufficient social distancing.

now obviously it still looks somewhat ridiculous considering he was all alone there, and as such not a harm to anyone, but that explains itself when you actually think about it for about as long as it takes you to say 'muh small government':

those orders are in place so public placed DON'T get overcrowded, allowing the virus to spread. if everybody was as selfish as him, the beaches would be full. his actions basically say he's better than the rest, rules don't apply to him if he considers them pointless. remember how chris chrisie shut down beaches to the public and then used it privately with his family? this is almost as bad. you know how you can get punished for running a red light, even if there's no other vehicle or person on the crossing? just think about it for a second if you can...

You can rest assured that if I use a source, I have read it and understand its contents. The 'stay at home' order is an order to engage in social distancing.

Over here on this side of the pond, we tend to frown upon 'the rules' just for the sake of 'the rules.' Context matters. You can walk your dog, which literally means you CAN leave your house. You can exercise. They are picking and choosing (poorly, in this case) HOW you maintain those distances.

I get that you subscribe to the notion that you ought to obey authorities, no matter who they are or how they got into a position of authority. But just maybe if a few more of you were like August Landmesser, the world would be a better place?

predictably that was the only sort of reply you could muster (how is it that this is literally all our low-iq right wingers can think of?), after your hacky attempt at being an edgy libertarian teenager failed at basic logic.
sure, there are rules and authorities that you should challenge, but common sense measures to mitigate the impact of a global pandemic don't fall under that category.

You're going to lecture me about giving predictable responses when you led with "as it takes you to say 'muh small government" and "just think about it for a second if you can..."? Get over yourself.

"common sense measure" or "now obviously it still looks somewhat ridiculous considering he was all alone there, and as such not a harm to anyone"? Pick one.

you should have finished reading that last sentence you quoted there, because it explained the disconnect betweem the first impression, and the explanation - which was ignored in order to create your 'meme'.

what it comes down to is that you support that people break rules designed to limit the spread of covid-19, while i think those rules make sense, even though they might confuse stupid people, who apparently think that going to empty places can do no harm, without realising that if the rules were not there, and smart people didn't follow them, those places wouldn't be empty.

so you can bitch and hack all you want, but this has nothing to do with reasonable and healthy scepticism against unjustified rules and authority, this is not the time or the place to be a 'libertarian' edgelord, people's lives are at risk, and you're just demonstrating your ignorance, and the joke that your political philosophy really is to a civilised society...

Where exactly did he say he supported said people? He simply stated that "we tend to frown upon 'the rules' just for the sake of 'the rules.' ". "We" as stated here is a general term applicable to Americans in general, not any one person in particular.

by posting the original 'meme', describing it as 'sad', and acting like rules about social distancing can be ignored, even though to reasonably intelligent people they make a lot of sense (clue: the beach is otherwise empty).

you can't possibly be stupid enough to not see that, you're just a cheerleader trying to help him back-pedal by pretending the posts he made after his original hackery were just general observations, totally not related to the topic.

Yep, read the context of santara and fender and it's hilarious.

Nice job Santara
