I honestly haven't followed that closely. If things don't look bad at first blush I generally ignore them. It's more or less a necessity to get through all the bad faith accusations the right has made lately (Basically since 2008), and Trump has so much legitimate scandal every week that even if you filter 99% of it you'll still have more than enough to deal with.

that an issue for me tho. both the right's treatment of Obama and the lefts hacky attempt to call anyone who had a bad date a sexist and the scandal of the day news treatment of trump are a bad faith approach. neither side is left with much honesty these days. and here we are in a crisis with a partisan divide still fucking the american people.... its fun in good times to laugh at, but sucks right now.

if you actually read that article, you'd realise how misleading your original 'meme' is: he was arrested for ignoring a 'stay at home' order and lifeguards, not for insufficient social distancing.

now obviously it still looks somewhat ridiculous considering he was all alone there, and as such not a harm to anyone, but that explains itself when you actually think about it for about as long as it takes you to say 'muh small government':

those orders are in place so public placed DON'T get overcrowded, allowing the virus to spread. if everybody was as selfish as him, the beaches would be full. his actions basically say he's better than the rest, rules don't apply to him if he considers them pointless. remember how chris chrisie shut down beaches to the public and then used it privately with his family? this is almost as bad. you know how you can get punished for running a red light, even if there's no other vehicle or person on the crossing? just think about it for a second if you can...
