It's a good point.

I bet Coronavirus is awful in India. And if it isn't yet, it will be. 1.3 billion people, living in packed spaces, in some of the most densely populated cities in the world, with little hygiene, little resources. It's going to be a disaster.

When I asked my friend what the military concerns are with Coronavirus (back in January) he explicitly said the biggest concern is India's slums, because it's gonna infect hundreds of millions of people who can't practice good hygiene.

Let's hope they can manage better than we think they can.

Agree with the others, it's an excellent point, one that can be made against a host of other topics like environmentalist, diet, etc.

Hundreds of millions still live in poverty, where they have to toil to just be able to eat. Individuals in wealthy nations like the US or western Europe should never look down on the pleb that needs to go to work to feed himself and his family. That's why i keep talking about the economics of an overreaction. 50% of the people in US living in the US live paycheck to paycheck. It would be catastrophic for our economy to be closed up for an extended period of time and just expect these people to magically survive.
