Around 20-25k yellow idiots grand total today, the thing is definitely dying.
For now... The reality is that none of the conflicts which the yellow vest movement symbolized have been resolved.
Macron still wants to stick to his abolishment of the property tax, while its reintroduction was one of the key demands of the yellow vest protesters and the participants of his "grand national dialogue".
The participants of the dialogue voiced their desire for several generous benefits and entitlements, while the main takeaway Macron got from the discussions is that "the people want lower taxes".
The conflict of interest between protecting the environment and meeting the county's CO2 reduction goals on the one hand, and keeping fuel prices low enough and mobility affordable for rural Frenchmen on the other hand, is also a very fundamental one, and no progress whatsoever was made when it comes to reconciling these conflicting goals.
So essentially, Macron is playing autistic because he wants to stick to his neoliberal agenda of lowering taxes, deregulation and cuts to entitlements, while a very significant chunk of the French population, one which extends far beyond the yellow vests, wants the exact opposite. This is a veritable policy conflict which hasnt been solved in the slightest, and which will break out again soon enough.
