Those trillions arent lying around, they will be created by incurring unimaginable amounts of debt. Debts which will have to be paid back eventually, one way or the other.

Also pretty funny how liberals still cling to their tired old "trickle down"-talking point while the GOP is currently undertaking huge steps toward social democracy or even socialism. They implement a temporary UBI for poor and middle class people, paid sick leave, free healthcare services related to the coronavirus, billions in support for the self-employed and small businesses, board compensation caps and bans of buybacks and dividend payments for larger companies, and even the possibility of nationalizing a lot of them if need be.

Simply put, the GOP is currently implementing the "best hits" of the Democratic primaries. By doing that, they're indirectly admitting that the Democrats were right on a lot of these issues all along. Yet you people still cant stop bitching.

i love how literally every picture i post triggers you into oblivion. when were the trump tax breaks again, that you now start acting like they are ancient history, pretending that once the crisis is over they won't go back to that idiotic narrative to sell their handouts to billionaires to people too stupid to realise that it hasn't worked for the last 74 times they tried it?!

the "lying around" part is just a figure of speech, and the argument stays the same no matter how you describe the 'creation' of the funds: for corporate bailouts, there is always money to be "found", for social programs everyone acts like they are just impossible to pay. really sad that you actually didn't get that tbh...

ah, so now the criticism of trickle down refers to the GOP's past sins.

What's happening right now is not a "corporate bailout", it's a bailout of the entire economy - of the unemployed, the poor, the middle class, the self-employed, small businesses and also corporations. The current measures arent intended to exclusively bail out the rich, their goal is to prevent the loss of tens of millions of jobs.

Amazing how a comic strip published 2+ decades ago is so relevant today...

It works for a lot of situations. The South Dakota pipeline is another apt analogy, especially since they diverted the pipeline from a mostly white town to a reservation due to concerns over spills and leaks.

I remember years ago i was really optimistic about young people.
I was.

Then i realized many of them were assholes.
/nb; i means even WORSE than previous generation in almost all departements.
