the chinese leadership deserves a whole lot of criticism for this - and not just their initial handling (silencing experts, cover-up for image reasons, inhumane quarantine measures...), but also their recent and current propaganda efforts concerning their 'success' of containing the virus. they are nothing short of cynical and disgusting.

but hey, keep strawmanning away to rationalise a narrative that is clearly NOT designed to level fair and well-deserved criticism against the CCP, but to score political points by appealing to bigoted sentiments...

Nice to see a major news network come out of a 16-month hiatus on Twitter to start posting updates about a virus that they actively naysayed in lockstep with the administration, until it was blatantly obvious that they were wrong all along.

there's a fox news watcher and hardcore trumper a few desks over that says corona is no worse than swine flu and that it's just a media hoax. says nothing should close, etc. eats out for meals 6-7 nights a week, as well as lunch.

he's a 400 lb diabetic with COPD from smoking, age 55. and is the sole caretaker of his 80ish year old parents.

You must have missed the fact that the Chinese government has started spreading the blatant lie that the virus was brought to Wuhan by American soldiers/secret agents. Trump had actually stopped calling it the Chinese virus for quite some time, and only brought back the label in response to this Chinese propaganda lie.

How can SNL or The Onion compete with this? It's North Korean level propaganda. This guy acts as an informal adviser to the president... Trump gets him on the phone during meetings at the White House. I don't know how any reasonable person can support this madness.
