Even assuming what you say is true about a lack of substance, does that matter? Can you tell me the substance behind Trump's campaign? What was the substantive message at his latest press conference? What policy point was he defending by arguing his crowds are bigger than Martin Luther King Jr's were?
She's not Trump and she's not Biden, that gives her a lot of votes. She has performed pretty well so far. She's going to roll out more policy and she'll have to give interviews, but it's hard to see how the ticket crashes and burns. Republicans chose a very unpopular candidate because the party is a personality cult and people are thrilled to have a choice who is not Trump or Biden.
Trump doesn't need to talk about policy all the time since he has already been president and voters know what they will get with a second Trump term. Also, when he's talking about inflation, immigration and such, he is talking about policy, even if you don't like what he has to say.
I'll admit, though, that he has been focusing more on personal attacks and stupid identity-based stuff in recent weeks. Trump was uncharacteristically focused and disciplined this year until the convention, and it served him well. The last few weeks, he has fallen back into bad old habits a little.
In the other thread, I explicitly said that I expect this race to be tight and go down to the wire. Harris won't completely collapse. Still: throughout her entire political career, Kamala has always been unpopular and bad at her job. I don't see how those fundamentals are supposed to have changed over night. The more the electorate gets to know Kamala, the less popular she will become.
