In my ideal world Bernie wins, takes the presidency, and even though he doesn't take the senate or house it shows the DNC that real liberal policies are popular and they can stop kneecapping liberal runners and actually start implementing things they've been paying weak lip-service too.

However, I know the most likely scenario is that Bernie gets a considerable amount of support, and maybe even a slim majority of delegates, but gets railroaded by the DNC. Then since they feel their choice was ignored a significant portion of Bernie voters stay home.

I got this joke, and now I'm feeling old.



They already know that. Imho, you misinterpret the role of the DNC: their whole purpose is to channel left-of-center energy and sentiment away from economic policies which would hurt the donor class and toward policies which dont hurt the billionaire class' interests (pro-choice, affirmative action, LGBTQ issues) or even policies which align with their interests (pro-immigration, pro-globalization, weaken traditional family and community cohesion).

They didnt shy away from implementing this type of liberal policies because they were too shy or fearful, they did it on purpose. It's their secret not-so-secret raison d'être.

The DNC knows liberal policies are popular, just as the GOP knows conservative policies are popular, with their respective electorates. its the consequences of those that they fear. highest among them, having to come up with new ideas once their long drawn out plans come to fruition. or perhaps even worse, having to answer for how the plan they've suggested for decades went so wrong.
