Should i hold my breath that the media will cover that the ventilator need was actually a third of what was being talked about a week ago in NYC? What's the probability that the people attacking Trump for not sending all of the reserves to NYC will apologize?

And what were the error bars on the 30,000 number? You talk about statistics a lot, so let's see if their projections were wrong or just inherently uncertain.

Trump does things practically every day that would merit a new thread if it were Obama. So the level of discussion and criticism of the orange man is relatively mild here.



The problem is that Trump waves a shiny object(in the form of corruption, incompetence, scandal, etc) in front of us every day so there's not normal political issues being discussed.

Lol, i'm not getting paid to do this, i did back of napkin calculations which pretty much showed NY has enough ventilators.

I provided a very simple model pages back based on rates of death, ventilator need, what we have in NY, etc. Icemage discounted it and said he'd rather listen to the 'experts'. A week later after virus deaths have peaked in NY and we now see that we actually needed 1/3 of ventilators previously quoted.

What will it take for you cult members for once to admit Trump wasn't wrong?

Einsteins constant wasn't wrong either. just like betting on black isnt wrong 49% of the time.

Even a broken clock can be right twice a day. I'm fine admitting that Trump wasn't wrong on one issue because it's also clear that it's a coincidence.

Without understanding their methodology it's impossible to know if the experts were wrong as well. They may well have been working off a range of 10k-40k ventilators needed, and shot for requesting 30k so they could be on the high end. That doesn't mean they were wrong either, it just means their projections had a lot of uncertainty.

Similarly, it would have been easy for Trump to say "We're not sending 30k ventilators because even though NY has a great need there's going to be a lot of need and we should distribute them across the U.S." If that was his positioning he wouldn't have gotten nearly as much shit for it.

He told me that by asking why we still have an emotional reaction to the fact that Trump is a con artist I was rationalizing it and saying that it's totally fine.
