Trump is currently asking the potential VPs for their tax returns while vetting
will we have a republican ticket where only the vp has disclosed returns?
It's entirely possible that even the VP nominee doesn't release their returns, depending on who he picks. The Democrats already know of a couple individuals who potentially have bombs lurking in their tax returns, though how likely he is to pick them, I don't know.

Even better, will they be disclosed only to Trump and not to us?
That'd be the funniest possibility, which seems to be how Trump decides a lot of these things.
Meaning this. Trump might be the only person who'd get to see them. Even Mitt Romney had something disqualifying in his tax returns, and yet ~60 million people voted to put him in the White House.
It didn't take the political press long to completely fall down on the job: they've already accepted as permissible the fact that Trump would be the first person in 40 years to not release a single return.
