Yes trying to act like a wartime president facing down a foreign invader. He is not offering hope he is he is doing nothing to inspire hope. He says there's a light at the end of the tunnel on the worst day of this, After claiming he takes no responsibility for what happens, and moving the goal post every single day.
I am going to ask you since you endorse his style of leadership, What is wrong with pragmatism and consistency? Why do you constantly defend erratic behavior and inconsistency? I'm basing this question off of your posting pattern here and claim there isn't a better alternative. Trump is clearly your preferred leader.
Lol, not even close. I was never a fan of Trump's leadership style, or of his erratic behavior and conduct. My support for him is rooted in policy agreement and my awareness that someone combining his agenda with this kind of charisma/appeal to the masses wont be easy to come by again.
There is nothing wrong with pragmatism and consistency - just note that this virus has caught virtually all governments around the world on the wrong foot. Virtually everyone had to correct course at some point, had to produce inconsistencies. Compared to other countries/world leaders, Trump's response to the virus ranks fairly low, dont get me wrong; I dont dispute that. What I am disputing is your notion that his response has been singularly bad. Just like I, more generally speaking, disagree with the assessment from the left about how bad and harmful his conduct actually is.

liberals: Trump is the devil
me: no, he's not
liberals: why do you defend him so much?
