To be fair, nuclear power plants run on nuclear fission, whereas stars run on nuclear fusion.

That being said, I'd really like to see development of LFTR in wide scale.

LFTR is as much of a pipedream as fusion atm.

wasn't LFTR just more of a fail-safe design for thorium reactors?

i've only seen a fly-bye video on this, but i've heard India plans to have over 50 thorium reactors by 2025.

edit: perhaps it's more than just the fail-safe, although that seems to be a good selling point to it.
i just watched this and think i answered my own question.
