This was a very interesting read. I'm going to post the full text as well, since the article is less than 48 hours old and already has to be retrieved from the web archives:

http://web.archive.org/web/20200405061401/https://medium.com/@agaiziunas/covid-19-had-us-all-fooled-but-now-we-might-have-finally-found-its-secret-91182386efcb

Anyone qualified to comment on it? I'm not.

I can only find one recently published Chinese paper on the subject and everything is quoting from that one paper.

It's not an experimental paper, which is honestly to be expected since the virus is so new. It's based on bioinformatics data.

https://chemrxiv.org/articles/COVID-19_Disease_ORF8_and_Surface_Glycoprotein_Inhibit_Heme_Metabolism_by_Binding_to_Porphyrin/11938173

Here's the paper.

So it's bioinformatics, not experimental, which means the conclusions will need to be experimentally verified. Additionally it's only one paper, so don't treat the conclusions as gospel. Mistakes happen, fabrications happen, etc. etc. so we will have to wait for more evidence before saying with certainty if this is what's going on.

At hospital:
3 weeks ago: only certain people need ppe
2 weeks ago: homemade masks are garbage, you cannot wear them to work, quit making them.
1 week ago: we are recommending ppe for all people in hospitals. Remember the homemade masks that don't work? You can wear them because we do not have enough N95s or surgical masks.
Today: you are required to wear ppe anywhere on site, if you don't have ppe use the formerly mentioned placebo mask, and if you're black hope you aren't killed by the police.

Between leadership telling hospitals to spend time with their families and get their placebo mask together I would say this Covid-19 is almost to Ohio in earnest.

I'm going to spend some time today decorating an N95 mask.

Once it became apparent that asymptomatic carriers are a significant part of the spread a lot of agencies started pushing homemade masks. They dont do anything to keep you safe but they reduce the distance you can cough things by about half.

I just hate that all these people rushed to help by making theae masks, then they told us to tell people to stop because we couldn't use them, then a week later tell those people nevermind we so need them we were mistaken.

People knew about asymptomatic carriers in early March but national leadership was still downplaying it then so i can see how Trump's competing narrative muddied the waters.

That's all he is good at is muddying of the waters. He hasn't done a single positive thing in the office that what any other warm body would
not have accomplished like Supreme Court judges are criminal Justice reform.

Nobody is carrying it we have a cure and is not as bad as we think it is -- POTUS

" The prevention cannot be worse than the cure". Unless the cure is the execution if between 100k and 300k humans i don't think it can be. What a stupid thing to say lol.

What a tire fire that approach is.

Is there any talk amongst employees of protesting against hospital administration?

Other than the mask thing my hospital ministration has done a great job. They send anybody to work remotely home. They sectioned off part of the hospital for covid patients, its a negative pressure zone. They've put things in place to enforce social distancing in halls, waiting rooms, registration, cafeteria, which had buffets and coffee stationed removed. People who need PPE have it, and they give us a daily progress report that is as detailed as how many boxes of each thing we have and when to expect more. We are a large system and have five full service hospitals in our city and have a good pool so that nurses can float between the five as needed.

They instated a hiring freeze, pay freeze, and foroughed nonessential workers. The ministry has allocated $100m to give to employees to supplement unemployment benefits while they are temporarily gone. Each hospital already has large employee food bank and relief funds which is one of my main charities i give to, $30 a paycheck, because charity starts at home and i want my coworkers to be taken care of.

My personal managers are working very hard.

a GOP state senate mixed with a faux progressive new democratic governor. it's made for a mix of polarization and them being likeminded in all the wrong areas.

Evers sounded like a deep south GOP governor weeks back, saying a shut down wouldnt be necessary and then his "shutdown" was so vague nearly everyone stayed open another week before he started getting cops involved to shut down stores like Hobby Lobby and Best Buy.

If we had much more contentious races and the democratic race was closer i think it would be a bigger stink. as it is it just shows a lack of ability to govern through crises from all involved. not shocking as Evers has been basically a lame duck since he got in.

Ofthevoid says just man up and stand in line, people shouldnt be able to easily express their opinions to the state on the one day they're allowed. If you suggest otherwise you're a libtard.

what else can we expect from a guy who called for herd immunity approach then slithered just left of that once it was proven deadly? he'll be dragged left from position to position as this unfolds, changing his stances slightly in real time.
