this is also why Maher's show mostly sucks much more than it should because he often does push back against his own with rhetoric but the old school set up of clap after everything I say does damage to accuracy and sincerity
he should do a podcast but he has that old media mentality unfortunately
I disagree with Shapiro all the time but much of what he says is not just opinion but very well researched opinion which cannot be successfully battled with overbearing claps every 36 seconds
and he's right, Trump is terrible optically but much more conservative in policy than conservatives probably even predicted and that makes him even powerful than he already was
He has the memers, he has the cult and he has the conservatives and these are very reliable voters.
He had a very low bar and most of the time he sits comfortably above it, that same benefit of the doubt he enjoyed the first election has now strengthened with conservative policy action.
This is a guy that has done nothing but lie his entire life about himself but with the above I currently don't have many doubts that he will (for once) have yuge numbers in 2020
I think what many of us missed, ignored, denied, and minimized last time around is juiced to the gills this time around and Democrats are in some real trouble going forward for the next decade before things shift again like they always do
