In our continuing series of "SJW's taking over MTG", we have the predictable black-lives-matter pandering after George Floyd
What wasn't predictable, is how insanely far they're willing to go in denying reality

Today Wizards is banning all cards that "depict racism" from organized play and retroactively excising them from its databases, effectively making them no longer official magic cards in a way that has never been done before. They will no longer acknowledge them as actual magic cards despite being printed and paid for in official sets and owned by collectors, and instead will have conspicuous missing multiverse IDs. It includes not just the obvious Klan-influenced "Invoke Prejudice" with its incredibly coincidental 1488 ID (they are listed alphabetically, so its pure coincidence)- but they also are removing cards that simply aren't considered politically correct anymore because they reference Islam, even extremely obliquely.

Sorry, but this is no longer a magic card:

Apparently, based on those card choices, wizards is unironically creating a precedent that SJW identity politics now apply to the magic colors White and Black. Its no longer acceptable to print "destroy all black creatures" or that white creatures get a special bonus. Dats racist. Black creatures will now get affirmative action in-game or something

I went through the list.

Invoke Prejudice: Ok, this one I can DEFINITELY see as bad... https://scryfall.com/card/leg/62/invoke-prejudice
Cleanse: I'm not sure what there is to see in this one: https://scryfall.com/card/me3/5/cleanse
Stone Throwing Devils: Huh? Why? https://scryfall.com/card/arn/33/stone-throwing-devils
Pradesh Gypsies: Seems fine to me and I think it would be hard to deem it offensive. https://scryfall.com/card/6ed/244/pradesh-gypsies
Jihad: I think this is actually pretty tasteful. https://scryfall.com/card/arn/5/jihad
Imprison: I think this is more sexual than anything https://scryfall.com/card/leg/107/imprison
Crusade: Seems difficult to remove religion from the white archetype. https://scryfall.com/card/ddf/27/crusade

The D&D universe is a universe of many fictional worlds and planes of existence, D&D has oppressors of all colors and races. I mean cleanse... crusade.. Will fiction have to be redacted and not written now if something similar happened in reality at some point in time?

I get it, its a for profit company and they don't want to lose a customer base due to getting blasted for being racist bigots but I have enjoyed MTG since early early 2000s and played with all races and this never came up once. Is there some huge demand from the player base for this or is it solely based on social media fear now? I have to think companies are trying avoid being lambasted now by the voice of the internet even if those voices are not the player base.

I will agree that Invoke Prejudice is on edge, but again its a made up world, and in fantasy there's oppressors of every color that look like something that was an oppressor in history if you really want to go down that path. Regardless i understand the distaste for that one and it dosen't bother me if they redact it if there's demand from a player base and people are actually truly offended.

Tyr is god of justice in the forgotten realms. I wonder what rank the god of social justice is?
