Communication =/= triangulation.

Tropospheric scatter wouldn't be necessary in a flat earth model, because the signals would be line of sight.

Does a flat earth even have a troposphere at all? Wouldn't it just spill over the antarctic wall and fall off the Earth?

but then we couldn't make people believe the signals are coming from a geostationary orbiting satellite!



Why else can you not get a gps signal 55 miles est of 155 on the California/Nevada border? Whats more likely - satellites dont cover that area or since no one lives there they dont have the appropriate tower coverage?

What, Death Valley? GPS works in Death Valley, it's just that the road maps on most GPS devices are inaccurate/out of date. The whole "Death by GPS" issue in Death Valley is due to people going down routes that are no longer passable/accessible, not that there isn't signal there.

So your saying gps cares about road conditions for it to work, never knew GPS was so snobby

Why are GPS transponders on the bottom of airplanes and why is there no coverage in remote places like Alaska?

Better get to work setting up some towers in the Alaskan wilderness...
