To be fair, Kristol is a neoconservative first and foremost, he's driven by his unwavering belief in interventionism and a world order shaped by America and its institutions. Over the last years, we have seen that the neocons/Bush republicans tend to be more at home in a Clintoneqsue version of the Democrats than in Trump's version of the GOP. It's a big and still ongoing alignment which causes figures like Kristol to effectively become Democrats, or politically homeless. This does not, however, make him a liberal, he's still a conservative on everything else, the economy, social issues, etc.
Trump's GOP is going to be the same GOP it always has been as soon as Trump is gone. Do you think the interests of older white males has changed that much? Lol.
