A few years ago I got back into YuGiOh for about two years. After going to locals I have to say, this one hits home.

If i learned anything from paper TCG games, hygiene is a made up word with certain individuals.

I think YuGiOh has a rule that if your hygiene is actually that bad, you are DQd because some gross fucks actually utilized it was a tactic to throw their opponents game off.

I was playing when they implemented that rule. It was very recent.

When I went there were lots of people who were nerdy, but pretty cool. They had figurines, custom printed high quality mats, etc. and this was clearly just their main hobby. Then there were the cringe-lords like I described and they genuinely ruined the entire experience.
