That's a bullshit excuse. He wasnt being sarcastic when he said that, he was serious. I guess that since yesterday, some of his advisers have explained to him how extremely dumb and embarrassing and dangerous this statement was, so now he's trying to walk it back.

I guess the positive thing about it is that he at least did understand, eventually, how stupid this statement was.

Turning these daily briefings into Trump campaign rallies just doesnt work. Not with such high stakes, not when he has to come up with something new every single day instead of going through the same stump speech time and time again.
