The "eat your broccoli" administration. I like it. It's time for Americans to grow up.

Solar panels arent useful for our civilization. Nuclear and biofuel are the only viable long term options.

he/she is literally allied with the FEDS and Wall Street against regular Americans lmao

Any time AOC and Ted Cruz are allied on something, I'm very hesitant to be aligned with them. Performative jackassery doesn't excite me like it does other people.

yes we know you want the FEDS and Wall Street to regulate regular consumers from buying assets and making money based on public information. you support a society where only wealthy market makers and hedge funds are allowed to buy or sell assets based on back-channel wink-and-a-nod information, and regular citizens are punished for accumulating wealth by legitimate means

The latest "learn to code"

Lol, it's almost as if these pasty privileged whites like John "male golddigger" Kerry have no fucking clue about the economy.

Yes, solar panel production is creating new jobs - but on aggregate, it's not happening here but elsewhere. Those panel factories dont require a lot of workers, what's creating lots of jobs is the lithium mining in Latin America, China and Australia.
So, when fossil power and cars are replaced with solar panels and teslas, it means that a relatively small amount of new white collar jobs are created in America, while a lot of blue-collar jobs are effectively moving from NA to other continents.

I thought the outrage was over what Robinhood did, not the federal government?

What's going to happen to all that wealth when the price of Gamestop returns to reality? Sounds like this was an exercise in performative jackassery.

they went out of their way to alienate their userbase and destroy any notion of being an uncompromised brokerage because why exactly? Rh didnt unilaterally make this decision on their own everyone knows this. we have been discussing it in the relevant thread stick to concepts you and the media are more in tune with like blaming “foreign powers” for every issue under the sun including gamestock’s price rise lmao, pathetic..

Oh look, even the New York Times mirrors my concerns about Biden and the perils of governing via EO without even trying to pass proper legislation:

The guy hasn't even been President for 10 days lol. How many members of his cabinet have been confirmed by the Senate? 5? Give it time.

Obviously legislation is stronger than EO and that's not even a debate. The Biden Administration will be a legislative failure if it can't get any important legislation through.

Here is the current list of EOs, which do you have a problem with? (I haven't read them all)

this is only semi true based on the current state of battery storage. given development in that category solar could massively shift upwards even if it never eclipses the efficiency rates of nuclear.

what specific biofuel tho? seems like an odd duck in this list.

where are the $2000 checks and business stimulus packages that were ready to go on day one? writing an EO decreeing that “you cant say covid-19 originated in China” under threat of federal punishment doesn’t help the American people

There is no single magic bullet.

Based on the current technology the best way to handle our energy needs is likely to have nuclear supply the baseline, since it takes hours to change the output of nuclear it's good at generating a constant load, and then use other things like wind and solar to make up the difference during peak hours.

In the future what needs to happen is for the government to effectively take over management of massive solar farms which produce a ridiculous amount of excess energy that can be put to needed projects, like condensing CO2 from the atmosphere into ethanol and other usable biofuels. Energy will eventually be made free as renewable technology becomes more efficient, and the efficient generation of excess energy will be a staple of governments.
