The real background behind the pic I posted is the following:
Due to water's higher heat storage capacity, the land masses/continents are heating up more quickly than the oceans. Therefore, in a technical sense, all land mass is indeed "warming twice as fast as the global average".
This obviously turns these headlines into a meaningless statement. They give, and are intended to give, the impression that the home country of the reader is hit particularly hard by global warming.
Therefore, I consider these headlines to be misleading propoganda, even though they are correct in a very technical, nit-picking sense.
a shame you don't apply the same standard to trump's ridiculous claims and excuses. whenever there is the slightest opportunity to describe them as 'technically correct', when every reasonable person can identify they are clearly misleading and propaganda, you jump on that to make excuses. just cultist things...
