why are the concepts of "evidence" vs "proof" so hard for boomers?

in reality we all know. they're scared shitless that people will infer from "there is evidence" that "this is proved" is true.

i could write a 20 page article on the evidence that's been presented (much of which you've already rejected, doesn't change that it's evidence.) you'd respond "bla bla bla"

i could tell you simply that if u reject a meal at a restaurant it's still a meal, you just didn't eat it. and thus present a perfect analogy for how evidence works, and you'd still put your fingers in your ears.
