so you think a military invasion of Canada is on the table?
our military might matters to canada as much as the UK, France, or just about any country with over a 50% literacy rate. nada. even less so for Canada, as they dont have as many benefits from NATO.
Canada also has 2x more natural resources per citizen than any US state, excluding Alaska. they could shut off the trade with the US and be fine supplying oil, wood, iron, and many other products to the EU and China.
so answer for me, if the Canadians decide to stop enforcing the northern border what will Trump do? he'll do nuttin.
Why would we invade them lol, we can ask and they will gladly let us in. I'm sure we have a fair amount of bases in northern Canada to counter any sort of Russian aggression over the arctic.

Nah, we should just tell the 1000+ nurses that live in Windsor and work in Detroit they are critical resources and for the duration of this pandemic they are to be redeployed as needed in Canada.
Why escalate over this though? Canada has nothing to gain.
Trump is notorious for flip flopping on pretty much everything. I guarantee that in a few days this will fade out of the news cycle and excess masks will be exported to Canada if you guys still need them. All it would take is for a few manufacturing leaders to say is "we have met all of our domestic demand and we will like to make money by sending Canada some'. I think this whole ordeal is based on the fact that it's an item that's in high demand and he doesn't want Americans to pay a higher price because Canadians are bidding on our mask production.
