Hence why they broke off from the country in the first place. Hence why there is a crisis in Ukraine. Hence why Russia feels obligated to defend them, due to how openly Ukraine has expressed its desire to slaughter anyone and everyone in the area, especially those that are Russian speaking or hold pro-Russian sentiment.

On the contrary, it's fucking hilarious to watch a bunch of braindead brainwashed sheep with absolutely no real knowledge of the Ukrainian crisis (other than what is being spoonfed to them by CNN, WaPo, and the like) call a US citizen, born on American soil, a "Russian troll" on Putin's personal payroll for no reason other than that they are too brainwashed to imagine that it is possible to both be an American but also hold pro-Russian viewpoints, and they're too braindead to realize they're being lied to about Ukraine by the same mass-media that lied to them about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
