It's quite serious, but for the most part it appears to be an unorganized mob. Were there sub-groups within the mob that intended to do something else entirely? I don't know, but I'm sure we'll learn.
Bold - I don't think so. We had a situation where people were actually shot and an assassination attempt was actually made. Whether something similar could have played out is anyone's guess, but it did not. There was no attempt made to seriously engage with Capitol security and go after Congress members. Even the Michigan militiamen understood that to effect a state takeover you need to bring guns and consider shooting them.
The accusation being made on the left (and here) is that this was a deliberate attempt at a coup. That just doesn't seem to be the case, and it undermines the seriousness of what did happen.

I am not saying that this is either irrelevant or meaningless. Something can be relevant and meaningful and not be a deliberate attempt to overthrow the government of the United States.
If you haven't determined what actually happened (bold), you really shouldn't be making these sort of irresponsible, inflammatory statements.
