MSNBC producer deduces this is Russian disinformation within hours of release, well before Biden had a chance to comment. And of course he's guilty of sharing Russian disinfo in the past.

how fitting. and my goodness that little fella looks like the typical pale pasty privileged lefty creep who ends up on america's most wanted for various insidious crimes. where does msnbc find these degenerates???

How many of these organizations pushed the golden showers headline? Wasn't it only Buzzfeed and the consensus was that it was pretty outlandish?

I think the way the NY Post described everything is very disingenuous and they are kind of a joke.

I can't remember who first published it, but they all ran with and covered it, and I don't recall any outrage over irresponsible journalism. I don't know if it was WaPo or the NYT, but we still have journalists today maintaining that the Steele dossier "hasn't been disproven". We'll obviously never know if golden showers with Russian hookers aren't Trump's thing, but by that measure we don't know that Clinton wasn't running pizzagate either.

By the standards of media today I can't blame the Post for running the story. The NYT (far more prestigious) had to be publicly contradicted by Mueller after getting bad info. Mistakes happen when you need to get the scoop out.

We should really wait and see. If the story falls apart, it falls apart. But the knee-jerk "It's fake, unnamed source "x" said this is what Russia wants us to believe!" well before any facts have come out is just as damning to me with respect to media credibility.

Buzzfeed had the original scoop on the Steele dossier I think.

I 100% agree that we should wait and see because the story appears to be evolving every day. The DailyBeast interview of the repairman shows that the guy isn't credible at all. We have confirmation from one of the recipients that at least one of the emails is legitimate. Do you think the FBI should make a public statement on the matter?

That's really a devious trick, isnt it? The mainstream media sweep these stories under the rug, and then liberals use this very fact to refuse replying to the substance of the accusations. "Only discredited outlets like the nypost or breitbart report on this, so it must be untrue, and I dont even have to look at the facts to arrive at this conclusion."

The harris/biden campaign went with “well facebook and twitter blocked it so it is clearly false”

not the other way around which would make more sense

And its not like it would end there. Nevermind that the NYPost was founded by Hamilton and is the 5th largest paper in the country already, lets say the sources had taken these documents to the """"credible"""" new york times or washington post
What would have happened?

Instead of releasing the story, and going well beyond spiking it, they would have brought it to Biden's campaign instead of the public and conspired to run deflection for him, and spent all their effort instead searching for ways to discredit the sources and insinuate they were the targets of a Russian disinformation campaign. That is, if this information ever reached the public at all. Seth Rich might not have been offed by the Clinton campaign, but after reading these emails, Biden's business associates seem to go missing a lot. Maybe that computer repair shop owner's paranoia was justified.

More confirmation that the documents are legitimate and real: Hunter Biden's attorney called the computer repair shop and asked them to return Hunter Biden's laptops to him a few days ago, and acknowledge that Hunter Biden dropped off the laptops in person
The computer shop owner released an email from Biden's attorney.
Of course, the FBI has them, so he can't return them

You can't simultaneously criticize the media for releasing unverified information and then not blame the NY Post for doing the same thing. Pick one and stick with it. Either it's wrong or it's not.

When did Mueller contradict a NYT story? I know that happened with Buzzfeed News, I can't remember it happening with NYT.

Am I missing something? Where in the email does it say any of those things?

Anyway, so far it's unclear to me what the damning allegations are. Hunter Biden was using his connections for business, and that my have involved meetings at some point with government or quasi-government officials from China and US government officials? And he got paid in Ukraine and Biden fired a corrupt prosecutor... we already knew that.

Literally the biggest revelation I've had after looking through the reams of evidence here is that I actually like Biden as a person now.
He genuinely cares about his son. He's supportive of him and kind to him when his son needed it most and
he's proud of him for battling and beating his addiction. He's a great father.

Heartwarming shit tbh.

It does not say that in the email. He says that's what Hunter Biden's lawyer said in the phone call. The email thanks him for speaking on the phone call.
Again the kind of thing where if he was lying about that phone call, Biden's lawyer would contradict him
