You can find an article being mad about anything. Is it really fair to attribute this to "the lgbtq+ community"?

Honestly I wish we had more explicit acknowledgement of Dracula as a high status person who maintains his existence only through draining the resources of those below him. He is a Count after all, he wasnt a social pariah, he was nobility.

I seen the article and was entertained. Stories are metaphor and subject to interpretation.

My favorite interpretation of Vampires is from Zizek, who considers them the bourgeoisie of monsters verses Zombies being the proletariat, and that zombie movies in the west are always about individuals trying to escape this nameless, soulless collective horde, while the individuals that vampires prey on are typically good hardworking people who have some parasite living among them, living off of their life source. It seems like you enjoy this interpretation of Dracula, King of the Bourgeoisie.

I enjoy interpretations but I'm a post modernist and instead of just getting triggered I value articles like this because it enables me to understand other ways of thinking, which is partially the allure of PaRD and exposing my mind to all the people here I disagree with. I think by posting the article here he is doing this too.

No it's not fair, i worded that poorly. but did mitigate it somewhat by saying that another LGBTQ author would complain about gay predator stereotyping. we could of course discuss lack of unity in the LGBTQ community compared to the narrative that it's more unified, but that's pretty tangential and hard to quantify due to a lot of polling biases among such a marginalized group.

as to Dracula that's a core tenant of his character. his Count reputation is that of a reclusive but respected lord, yet he's constantly plagued by whispers due to his nighttime behavior. lines like "the respected count dracula lives there, very rich lord, but only seen at night for some reason and his serfs whisper of strange happenings."

this draws from the real life Dracula, who transitioned from a run of the mill lord to a feared and violent ruler decorating his lands with heads on spikes.

I think it would be interesting to explore Dracula as a bisexual character. less interested in base instincts of sex, and more with utter control of others. using men, women, and everything inbetween as an apex predator, both from a feeding and sexual standpoint. it's an archetype i've seen a few times, one example being Oberyn Martel from asoif. So alpha that his sexual energy can't be absorbed by a single gender.

Real Dracula loved impaling dudes....that is phallic as fuck.

I like the topic of speculating about whether dracula and perhaps Bram Stoker was gay by extension. I just dont like the matter of fact tone the article took. "He said, this is my man, so that proves he's gay"..... like come on mannnnnn

To the gays everybody's gay. I think it's part of their constant recruitment.
What I say the gays I mean the G's, Who are clearly in charge of that letter group.

some are G's, some use only their A's, and some just leave you asking Y.

to be fair, there is a certain degree of consistency in this: he submitted it for the wrong reasons, and now he tries to kill it for the wrong reasons. #just republican things
