I think after 30 years of being ignored the current situation is tame.

Thats certainly an opinion, (one that I disagree with) but it doesn't address the question about your statement.

Things like wildly extreme and unscientific claims that the world is ending in 10-12 years, children emotionally yelling at people at the UN, and wanting to ban several of the most prominent, affordable and efficient energy sources in the near future with garbage like the Green Leap Forward is a far cry from merely asking for some change and is reasonably characterized as hysteria by some people.

But that's like saying "Jews don't want Israel to exist." There are some ultra-orthodox Jews who are very much against the state of Israel for religious reasons. However, the vast majority of Jews want it to exist. Just like the vast majority of Democrats didn't want to impeach both Bush presidents, Reagan, etc. It's a nonsensical and HIGHLY misleading meme.

Its not nonsensical. It makes lots of sense. Its also mostly factual, aside from the error of claiming its every Republican instead of 5/6 with the replacement for the resigned-before-being-impeached Nixon being the exception.

Yes some of the impeachment efforts had more support and got further than others, and full context cannot be and is not provided in a 1 sentence meme.

Sure you can nitpick and say they didn't adequately convey the amount of factually existing Democrat support for each impeachment effort.
'Differing amounts of democrats tried to impeach 5/6 Republican presidents' doesn't have the same bite and is an odd standard for a meme graphic, which wasn't claiming all democrats tried to impeach them in the first place.

Some Democrats did try to impeach 5 of the last 6 republican presidents. Just not all Democrats.
"Articles of impeachment were introduced against five of the six Republican presidents who have served since President Dwight D. Eisenhower."

The word every has a meaning, 5/6 is not every president.
So yes it is wrong.

I'm not disagreeing with that part.

Wind, solar, hydro and battery technology has plenty of untapped potential because all the government money goes towards propping up coal.

$/MWh though. The thermodynamics just don't add up given current technology.

Power bills for ordinary folks would double.

6 out of 6 would have been "completely true" but 5 out of 6 is "mostly false." lulz

that's a very concrete claim, do you have any source for it?

anyway, what you're completely ignoring are the costs of NOT making the shift: costs of adaptation measures / increased immigration pressure due to food and fresh water shortages, flooding, desertification / military expenditure to address the inevitable conflicts resulting from climate migration / disaster relief costs increasing due to a rise in extreme weather events...

just because those things don't appear on your power bill, doesn't mean you won't be paying for them.
i mean it's true, your power bill will almost certainly be higher during the transition period, but exclusively focusing on that tiny part of the equation is extremely shortsighted.

do you ever get tired of uncritically perpetuating lies like that? literally no one claimed 'the world is ending', or called for an outright 'ban of several energy sources'. you're indistinguishable from FOX news in your messaging. stop lying, you hack.

Nazis tried to save the Jews in WW2. Americans celebrated the Oklahoma City bombing. The Chinese want to start a nuclear war with America. The same principle in these absurd statements applies to the meme. It's a shitty, misleading meme which is why it's "mostly false."

It's "mostly false" because the claim is misleading. Saying "Democrats have tried to impeach every Republican" implies a concerted effort in the party, which did not exist in all but Nixon (which had bipartisan support) and Trump (Who has basically admitted to the claim and obstructed an investigation).

Solar is actually cheaper than coal already.

Not only is solar cheaper than coal, it's cheaper than coal even if you take into account coal's much much larger subsidy.

I've already established that EndlessSky doesn't know shit about thermodynamics though, so it's not surprising he makes a dumb comment.

When you account for fresh builds for both it ends up leaps and bounds cheaper.

I was driving through rural bumfuck Missouri yesterday.

I saw a solar farm set up in an old field. Giant farms are popping up even in places you wouldn't expect. It's just a matter of time now, but it could be going faster.
